However, documents or records that BEC is legally required to retain, or that are necessary for legitimate legal, accounting, security or dispute-related purposes, may be retained for the applicable retention period.

5. Active Applications and Services

If you have an active application, paid service, consultancy request, academic service or other ongoing transaction, deleting your account may affect your ability to access that service or application.

You should consider completing or resolving any important application, service or transaction before requesting account deletion.

6. Account Deletion Does Not Mean Automatic Refund

In particular, fees for BEC Academic Services remain non-refundable, including where a customer deletes their account, cancels the service or changes their mind, subject to applicable law.

7. How to Request Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your BEC account by contacting us using the email address below.

Please include enough information for us to identify the account, such as:

• Full name registered with BEC.
• Registered email address.
• Registered mobile number, where applicable.
• Username or account ID, where applicable.

8. Identity Verification

For security reasons, BEC may need to verify that an account deletion request was submitted by the account owner or an authorised person.

We may request reasonable additional information to verify the request.

We will not ask you to provide your account password by email as a method of identity verification.

9. Processing of Deletion Requests

After receiving a valid deletion request and completing any necessary verification, BEC will process the request within a reasonable period and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

The actual time required may depend on the type and amount of information involved, technical systems, security requirements and legal retention obligations.

10. Deletion From Third-Party Services

BEC may use third-party technology, hosting, authentication, payment, communication or other service providers.

Where personal information is processed by a third-party service provider on behalf of BEC, BEC may take reasonable steps to request deletion or cessation of processing where appropriate and legally required.

Third-party services may have their own retention periods and legal obligations.

11. Deletion From Backups

Some information may remain temporarily in secure backup systems after account deletion.

Such information may remain until the applicable backup cycle expires, provided that it is not restored for ordinary operational use except where required for security, disaster recovery or legal purposes.

12. What You Can Do Before Deleting Your Account
